Curator
Lioba Reddeker
The HangART-7 team would like to express its gratitude for the longstanding and mutually rewarding working relationship with our friend and curator Lioba Reddeker who died recently. Lioba Reddeker was the art historian and curator responsible for the HangART-7 exhibition programme, which she worked on with great devotion - her presence will be sorely missed.

Lioba Reddeker was born in 1961 in Hövelhof / NRW, Germany. She studied art history, German and journalism at the Universities in Bonn and Münster. In 1988 Lioba Reddeker moved to Vienna, working for galleries and on contemporary art projects, and from 1993-98 she supervised art sociology research projects in both Germany and Austria, on topics such as the production and collection of contemporary art.
Lioba Reddeker was the federal art curator from 1997 to 2000 and in this capacity she founded in 1997 the “basis wien – Kunst, Information und Archiv”, a documentation centre for contemporary art, which under her administration was involved in numerous international research projects on creating digital archives of works of art.
