Red Bull Art of Can
Artworks from Red Bull cans
Over the past decade, more than 30,000 empty Red Bull cans worldwide have been transformed into unusual art objects.
In 1995 for the first time, the Red Bull Creativity Contest challenged creative spirits to be inspired not just by the contents of the blue and silver Red Bull can but by the can itself. From From 10 May to 3 July 2005, the best submissions were to be seen at Hangar-7: the exhibition Red Bull Can Art Worldwide presented the 70 most original art objects made from cans.
Over the past decade, Red Bull Creativity Contests have been held in 16 countries, including South Africa, New Zealand, Poland, Israel and the US. In the course of those events, more than 30,000 cans have been transformed into unusual creations, and some of them have even made it to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. The objects in Salzburg included a Formula One racer, Big Ben and a chessboard as well as the Mona Lisa.
