Hangar-7 Wednesday Night - Maria Mena
Maria Mena bei der Wednesday Night
There was something big in the air – you could feel it for days in advance at Hangar-7. Anyone who witnessed the preparations for this Wednesday Night session in May quickly sensed the excitement in the air.
The Hangar-7 area looked as it had never looked before and even sacrificed some of its exhibition space under the large dome. Creating extra space was a good decision as more people attended on the evening of 20 May than at any previous concert!
In these days of endless casting shows it doesn’t come as a surprise that all this happened because of a 22-year-old girl. Yet Norwegian artist Maria Mena revealed just how far removed she is from this fast-paced world of music with her performance at Hangar-7. The daughter of a Nicaraguan father and a Norwegian mother has a wide repertoire of songs with 5 very successful albums already under her belt. And she certainly made use of them during the evening.
She captivated the audience with her big hits like “Just hold me” and “All this time” as well as some of her less well-known yet equally atmospheric songs. It was the charm of this young woman as well as her music which made this concert so special – and the many guests were clearly very happy with her performance.
