peter besenyei

He's a two-time World Aerobatics Champion, a two-time World Grand Prix winner, creator of the Red Bull Air Race and in his home country he is as famous as Michael Jordan in the USA – especially due to his legendary accomplishment of the passing beneath Budapest's Chain Bridge in inverted flight.

But Peter Besenyei doesn’t just fly breathtaking figures – he also develops them. One of his greatest successes was the invention of an almost impossible way to stop the Inverted Flat Spin, a maneuver in which the airplane revolves around an imaginary point, nose-first and – of course – upside-down. Besenyei managed to finish this figure with his aircraft in horizontal position and immediately dashing forward again. When for the very first time he presented this maneuver, even some of his aerobatic pilot colleagues were speechless. And they are not easily impressed.
