Despite being billed as such in all major brochures, Luke Dale-Roberts does not refer to his hub of creativity as a restaurant. Yet if you are looking for unbridled creativity and extraordinary culinary indulgence, The Test Kitchen cannot be overlooked. 

It was the interaction of the wilderness, ocean, culture and first-rate ingredients that drew Dale-Roberts to Cape Town. The name The Test Kitchen refers to the untapped, endless universe of culinary experiments that he explores every day. But this does not mean that you get half-baked ideas on the plate here. By playing with the entire range of flavours, unexpected combinations and new ideas, Dale-Roberts’ cuisine challenges, inspires and pleasantly surprises his guests, invariably with a pure, limitless culinary vision and exquisite results.
