Salzburg, 14 October 2015. The idea is unique: The international cooking elite has presented their creations in the Salzburg Ikarus for 13 years now. The restaurant, located in the Hangar-7, provides a monthly platform for the best chefs around the world to reveal their outstanding culinary creations. This culinary celebration is captured in a high-quality cookbook. The second volume of “Ikarus invites the world’s best chefs“ will be published on 31 October, portraying 12 pioneering chefs from five continents presenting a total of 60 mouth-watering recipes.

The opera house for culinary celebrities

Under Eckart Witzigmann’s patronage, the restaurant invites chefs from all over the world to present their Fine Dining interpretations. That is why Witzigmann adequately describes Hangar-7 as an opera house for the world’s best chefs. Under the guidance of executive chef Martin Klein, the Ikarus team supports the cooking honorary guests – recently among them Kobe Desramaults, Hans Neuner, Virgilio Martínez, Vineet Bhatia, Gert de Mangeleer, Harald Wohlfahrt, Tomislav Gretić, Esben Holmboe Bang, Luke Dale-Roberts, Ben Greeno, Richard van Oostenbrugge und Christopher Kostow.

An award-winning book

The first volume of the cookbook successfully outperformed more than 8,000 international books at the “Gourmand World Cookbook Awards” in June of 2015, winning in the “Best Translation” and “Innovatives” categories. The outstanding book has been published by Pantauro Verlag located in Salzburg.
